Laura Cherney

Ms. Cherney is an ecologist and certified AECOM Project Manager with experience throughout South Florida in environmental science, policy, sustainability, and engineering. Throughout her career, she has specialized in environmental impact assessments and natural resource management. Laura has extensive experience with natural infrastructure, threatened and endangered species, and environmental resource permitting on a range of projects. She has worked to provide decision makers with locally relevant climate resilience information and tools to reduce risks to people, property, and nature in the face of a changing climate. For the past three decades, she’s been a proud South Florida resident and will always be a proud alumna of the University of Miami! Laura is the Project Manager for the University of Miami’s Reefense project.
