Craig Raffenberg

Biologist/Marine Biologist

Craig Raffenberg is a Marine Ecologist in the AECOM Coral Gables office with a range of biological and planning experience. Craig completed his M.S. in Marine Ecology at the University of Miami in 2018 and is currently completing a M.S. in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with Elmhurst University. Craig has worked extensively in Florida, Biscayne Bay, and adjacent offshore habitats in both scientific and regulatory roles including as an Environmental Impact Reviewer for the Florida Department of Transportation in District 6, on scientific studies with NOAA’s Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS), and during his graduate studies with the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) on marine acoustics and fish communication. He has experience in various capacities including threatened and endangered species studies as field biologist and impact reviewer, wetland delineation, providing on site construction oversight as an environmental inspector, environmental impact review and permitting, and NEPA documentation. His current projects and interests are focused on coastal resilience, mitigation, and nature-based solutions with a particular focus on coral reef and nearshore communities.
