Jason Weiss has a M.S. in Resource Economics and Policy and over 25 years of professional experience as a researcher and consultant in the fields of economics, planning, engineering, and community development. While Jason specializes in applied economic and socioeconomic analyses, much of his career has focused natural hazard mitigation and ecosystem services. In addition to completing many hazard mitigation feasibility studies for federal, state, and local clients, Jason has worked with FEMA, USACE, FHWA, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to develop guidance, tools, and methods that can be used by planners and economists to better estimate the impacts of proposed actions, while addressing climate change. Jason has completed ecosystem restoration and valuation studies for federal and private clients across the U.S. and internationally, which have often involved identifying many sources of data and conducting extensive literature reviews to provide defendable and objective results of the value of each ecosystem impacted. Many of the studies Jason has worked on incorporate elements of ”triple bottom line” (economic, social, and environmental impacts) to provide a comprehensive analysis of the impacts of a project.
