Aric Bickel, M.A. is the Director of Technology and Implementation for SECORE International. He leads the organization's technology development efforts and capacity building programs. Aric is a graduate of the Marine Affairs and Policy program at the University of Miami, where he conducted his Masters research on the impacts of resource management to coastal communities. Aric has worked in ocean conservation and management for the last 15 years. Following the completion of his degree, he worked for several years on the development of marine protected areas in Fiji as part of his service with the U.S. Peace Corps. He then worked with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Coral Reef Conservation Program in the Northern Marianas Islands, focusing on the mitigation of land-based pollution impacts to the nation’s corals. Immediately prior to joining SECORE, Aric was a Senior Program Manager at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) in Moss Landing, California.
