Clara graduated from Stony Brook’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Science in 2021 with a B.S. in Marine Sciences. During her undergraduate career at Stony Brook she volunteered with the Peterson Marine Community Ecology Lab assisting a PHD student with Sea Bass Trophic Cascade interaction experiments, as well as the changing water quality’s effects on juvenile scallops and clams. She is now getting her M.S. in the Langdon Ocean Acidification Coral Lab assessing the effect of ocean alkalinity enhancement on coral growth and development. Her experiment also includes coral texture preference experiments, and alkalinity enhancement through a boundary layer with increased fluid dynamics. She has completed multiple oceanographic research cruises for NOAA, and is working on a spatiotemporal assessment of NOAA’s surface underway systems to be used for long term assessment of ocean acidification. Clara’s passion is traveling around the world, hiking, and having as many plants as a person can.
